"Divided is an experiment or exploration of a thicker painting process. The mood of the piece is quiet, but the paint is immediate and raw. The intention is to balance the mood with the brushwork while focusing in on the face. Divided is intentionally different from my main body of work. In order to keep my main body of work fresh, it's important that I allow for divergent subjects and approaches to painting in some of my art."
