Michelle Barkway Artist Biography & Statement

Michelle is a biologist-turned-artist living on Vancouver Island. Her paintings are endlessly inspired by her home on the coast, surrounded by ancient cedars and the cold Pacific Ocean. A lover of details, her goal in painting is to break down these complex landscapes into their component parts, mostly in hopes of soothing her busy brain.
