“Desert Rosewater” captures Washoe Lake State Park at the height of a Nevada summer sunset, when the desert air softens and the landscape seems to exhale. Coral pinks and luminous blues ripple across the sky and water, dissolving the day’s heat into color and reflection. The Black Rock Mountains rise in the distance as steady silhouettes, anchoring the composition and holding the horizon with quiet strength.
This painting lingers in the in-between moment - not quite day, not yet night - when light becomes fluid and the desert reveals its tenderness. Rather than the starkness often associated with arid landscapes, “Desert Rosewater” offers a vision of gentleness and renewal, where color, water, and land move together in a shared breath.
