I’m drawn to the tension between control and looseness, and that balance shapes my process. I often begin with an impulsive line and let the paint move freely, layering, pushing, and pulling before introducing edges, shapes, and pattern. The painting becomes a negotiation between spontaneity and restraint, clarity and blur.

Landscapes often emerge. As a child, I loved staring out the car window on long road trips, watching fields and towns blur past. I studied the lines, patterns, and shifting colors, wondering about the lives unfolding in those spaces. Today, those memories continue to inform my work, but my paintings are not depictions of specific places. Instead, landscape becomes a metaphor for inner terrain—layered, shifting, and always in transition.
