Statement

Through my work, I create visual representations of my experience as a woman of mixed heritage, navigating life between cultures, languages, and identities. As part of the Latin American diaspora, I have sought to reconnect with my body, mind, and roots—an exploration that is both physical and spiritual. My use of a vibrant color palette reflects my Andean heritage, while family photographs serve as a foundational reference in my creative process.

I am profoundly inspired by women artists—many of whom were historically marginalized or omitted from the art historical canon. Figures such as Sofonisba Anguissola, Helene Schjerfbeck, Alice Neel, Sylvia Sleigh, Leonora Carrington, and Suzanne Valadon—figurative painters and trailblazers—carved space for themselves and left a legacy for future generations of women.

My practice centers on figurative oil painting and drawing—intimate and personal works that place me at the core as storyteller of my own life and that of my family. Currently, my work is expanding to include performance and installation, with a new project set to launch in late 2025.
